Use this kit to list the work and rights your business owns and record transfers of ownership. If you just need to transfer copyright or trademark ownership, see Copyright and Trademark Assignment Kit - Author Edition. To keep ownership and let your company use the work instead, see Entity IP License Kit. Choose the kit that fits your plan. You do not need all of these kits.
Start with the video or Companion Guide. They explain which files to use and what to fill in.
Starting a company does not automatically make it the owner of your books, designs, or other work. Use this kit to list what you own, record a transfer, and track what the business owns. Keep the records and any limits on use together.
This kit does not decide whether a transfer is advisable, resolve ownership disputes, clear liens or licenses, value an asset, or address every tax, accounting, lender, investor, or estate-planning consequence of moving intellectual property.
Start with a list of the work and rights involved, then check who owns each item now. Moving ownership is different from letting a business use something you still own. For that second choice, look at the Entity IP License Kit.
